What does one think is a reflection of his surroundings & the ups & downs in his life. Everyone's life is an entirely different ballgame be it a rich business man, a middle class shop owner or a poor man. There're many situations which tend to befuddle you. Where and how do you find answers to appalling truths of life? Rather than alienating yourself from the world, here is an attempt to help pacify your antagonized mind. So keep writing whether its bilge or sagacious.

A Note to Myself

Note: I am sitting in Logan airport waiting for my US Airways flight to Gainesville, FL. It is 10:20am. I am in the phase of life where I want answers to all my questions knowing that no one on the face of this planet have found out answers to all their questions. Still we question ourselves and our existence at every step. We know that time unfolds all the mysteries and answers most of the questions but few things remain a mystery to us. We know whatever happens, happens for a reason but some reasons are unsaid, some are misunderstood and some are very clear and obvious. What do we do when we come across the feelings that lead us to nowhere? We don’t know and believe me, no one knows. We have our own ways to get over this emotional turmoil. And my way of getting over this is, to write. I don’t know how good or bad I am but I know it helps me a lot. It helps me to an extent that my mind and heart are in sync at least for the time when I am writing.

I Look Back

This is for all the people who have been a part of our life from the time we were born till today. I am sure this will hold true till we die. The moments we have spent with the people around us fill our lives with smiles. Even the smallest of mistakes that we do, we smile at those at some point in life because we are over those feelings of guilt. The things that we have said that we shouldn't have, fill our heart with emotions for those loved ones and not so loves ones, once again. We miss those moments, the moments of being in someone arms as a baby all the time, the moments of someone playing with us all the time, the moments of being with friends, the moments of playing, the moments of fighting over small things, the moments of tension for exams, the enthusiasm to become something, the need to prove ourselves to our family and friends.

I look back when I was a new born baby
I smiled because someone would hold me his?her arms
I smiled when someone sung me a lullaby
I smiled when someone kissed me
I smiled for everyone
I smiled for no reason

I look back when I was growing
I giggled when someone made fun of me
I giggled when someone played with me
I giggled when someone tickled me
I giggled with everyone
I giggled for no reason

I look back when I was a kid in school
I laughed when I saw someone falling on the ground
I laughed when I tied someone's shoe laces
I laughed when I saw someone losing the game
I laughed with everyone
I laughed for no reason

I look back when I was in middle school
I played when ever there was sports day in school
I played when ever I got time
I played when I participated in school
I played with everyone
I played for no reason

I look back when I was in high school
I studied when ever there was home work
I studied when ever I got time
I studies when ever there was a test
I studied with everyone
I studied for a reason

I look back when I was in college
I took all the classes for good grades
I took all the classes so I can learn more
I took all the classes to get the job of my choice
I took all the classes but with selected few people
I took all the classes for a reason

I look now where I stand
I work for a reason
I smile when I think of the people who made me smile
I smile when I think of those silly moments of giggle with friends when we were kid
I smile when I think of the moments full of laughter
I smile when I think of how badly we lost the games
I smile when I think of the worries that surrounded me just to get good #s in exam
I smile when I think of the horrifying classes that we had to take with absolutely no interest
I smile when I think of how everyone struggled to get a job
I smile when I think of how exciting it was to get the first pay check
I wonder if we often giggle, laugh, play, study or go to classes with those feelings.

I don't, do you?

The Only Thing...

Only in stone I reside, because that is the only thing that has given me shelter.
Only in ice I feel myself, because that is the only thing that has given way to my emotions.
Only the trunk I find strength, because that is the only thing that taught me to fight.
Only the ocean I find huge, because this is the only place where I see myself big.
Only the darkness I find enlightening, because this is the only thing that shows me the meaning of light
Only the lightening I find encouraging, because this is the only thing that provides me spark.
Only in death I find life, because this is the only thing that makes me live each day
Only in HIM I find peace, because HE is the only one who has given stone, ice, trunk, ocean, darkness, lightening, death and HIMSELF....

And I am Standing Still

The time is running

The clock is ticking

And I am standing still

The dust is blowing

The wind is howling

And I am standing still

The leaves are falling

The trees are growing

And I am standing still

The water is streaming

The rivers are flowing

And I am standing still

The stones are stoning

The mountains are building

And I am standing still

The ice is melting

The oceans are deepening

And I am standing still

The health is deteriorating

The man is dying

And I am standing still

The mind is corrupting

The crime is increasing

And I am standing still

No man ever walked the path

The path chosen to show the right

Then why are we standing still,

When we have a chance to walk up the hill

A Cab Driver in New York City

This was an incident that happened while I and my brother were going to Manhattan by the cab. A hispanic driver who could not talk in English fluently. But he was trying to strike a conversation even though he could not speak well.
We sat in the cab and he helped me keep the stuff in the trunk because I had quite some luggage with me. Anyways, we were sitting at the back seat and talking about how to plan the rest of the day and there was music playing in the background. All of a sudden a song came and I asked the cab driver to increase the volume. I heard that song couple of times and I liked it very much. I asked him " Do you know which song is this?" He said "No, I don't. This is a old song." He started talking to someone over the phone.
The moment he hung up he said, "Independent Girl by Ne Yo". I said, "Sorry".
"This song is Independent Girl by Ne Yo. My kids listen to such songs and I knew they would know which song is this."

We don't see people like him in day to day life. This was an incident that touched me. At times we judge people by their race/caste/community/country/region that they belong to, which in my opinion is not right. We should not be judging anyone until we know that person and even if we know someone we should not judge. Every one is an individual and different from rest of the world. They have their own ways of doing things If someone does something, you cannot generalize it to the people of his/her group.

The whole motive behind writing this was to let everyone know that there are people in this world who don't know you but still they will help you in some or the other way or they will touch your heart with their unselfish gestures.
